The Lawrence Jumper - or ‘Gansey’ jumper in 'kelder' blue - takes its name from Nottinghamshire writer, D.H. Lawrence. Born just over the hill from the Stanley Biggs Studio in the old mining town of Eastwood, Lawrence would spend many of his formative years exploring the local countryside, with many of the locations acting as inspiration for the settings in his novels.

Ganseys (or ‘Guernseys’) are steeped in maritime history.

Known  as the 'fishersmans jumper', they were an integral and invaluable item of clothing for sailors and fishermen, especially those who were based along the Eastern Coast of the UK.

Our ganseys have dropped shoulders and a traditional square stand-up collar, with a unique detail on the shoulders.
