All our trousers have an inside leg measurement of 40" (101.5cm).

Waist measurement is True Waist - ie. around 1 inch above belly button.

Hip / Seat means where your bottom is widest.

Body means the rise measurement from leg up to top of waistband.

The trousers are overlocked, but unfinished. The length will allow for the owner (including those of a taller disposition) to tailor the trousers in a fashion of their choice.

If you have a pair of high waisted slacks that you find comfortable and you feel fit you, you can use these as a guide. You are still best to measure yourself as well.

• Measure the full length of the outside of the trousers. For the waist, make sure the trousers are done up, lay them flat and measure the waistline (double this for your waist measurement).

If you don't have a pair of high waisted slacks (you soon will!), then you just need to measure yourself. See if you can find someone to help with this.

Waist:

Your 'natural waist' is circa 1 inch above your belly button - this is where you will need to measure. 

Relax and don't pull the tape too tight - you are fabulous regardless of your waist size.

Leg: Chosse from two finished fits : Regular (32") or Long (34"), with a 2" turn up.

The best way for this style of high waisted trousers is to measure both inside and outside leg length.

Outside Leg : So, take the tape measure and place on your natural waist, then down the outside of your leg to your preferred leg length. 

Traditionally, this is with a slight break or minimal crease at the front, which means they rest lightly on the top of the shoe, creating a neat and polished look.

This is just as important, if not more so, than your inside leg measurement.

Inside Leg :  

From the inside leg starting at the crotch, measure down to the bottom of your trouser hem.

Tip - keep your leg straight!

What is worth noting is that these are high waisted trousers. The body (the waist to the crotch) is deeper to give that high waisted look. You can see what we mean with our size chart.

Seat : 

This is your derrière. Measure around the fullest part of your ‘buttocks’. This isn't your hip measurements and with these slacks, you won't need to worry about your hips.

Our slacks are tailored with all this in mind but it is best to double check you are getting the best pair for you. The slacks will essentially hang from your waist and fall over your bottom, creating the straight leg look.
